About

Welcome to my blog!

Down the road, this may be a blog about my many adventures around the world, but for the foreseeable future I will be focusing on my recent experiences in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) more commonly known as North Korea.

I have been to the DPRK twice in 2012–first, in April for the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader, and then in September for National Day. I will be returning next April to see remote parts of the country, virtually unseen by western tourists so far.

If you’re wondering what attracted me to this place off the beaten path, I encourage you to read the first few posts which explain my rationale and passion in great details.

Through this blog, I will relate my experiences and provide my perspectives on the DPRK, while sharing over time the very large picture library that I have built, in an effort to contribute to the pool of knowledge about this little known country. I will post content on a regular basis, although it will probably be a while between posts 🙂

All pictures on this blog are hosted on Flickr and were taken with a Canon 50D or a Canon Powershot S100 depending on the circumstances. I am by no means a professional photographer, however please note that the reuse of any picture, for any use, commercial or not, without my prior explicit and written authorization is prohibited.

I hope you find the blog enjoyable or informative. Comments are always welcome. You can reach me at blog@patrickl57.sg-host.com.

Happy travels!
